Sunspire Health Admissions Process
Determining what program is clinically suitable for your case is most effective when we can speak with you one-on-one about the treatment and financing options that will be best for your situation. You can contact a Sunspire Health admissions advisor on chat or by phone to get started.
Initial Admissions Assessment by Phone
Each patient will have to complete an initial admissions assessment with our admissions advisors and clinical team to determine which of our facilities is best suited to meet their needs clinically and financially. If insurance has not yet been verified, this will also happen during the initial clinical assessment to verify benefits and treatment cost.
Determining Treatment Program Needs
While there is no standard course of treatment at Sunspire Health, it is common for those who are suffering with substance use disorders to first enter detox for about five to seven days before starting residential treatment or a partial hospitalization program (PHP) followed by aftercare treatment options upon discharge, such as an intensive outpatient program (IOP) with sober living and initiation into the Sunspire Health alumni support network.
Treatment needs are unique for every patient, which is why we conduct a clinical assessment to determine what program will suit each individual, meeting them where they are at and designing a treatment plan that will offer the tools necessary for long-term recovery.
Facility Placement and Intake
Once we speak with you to learn about your treatment needs, insurance, and payment options, we will work with you to determine facility placement and can initiate the intake process to get you or your loved one into treatment as soon as possible.
Choosing a Sunspire Health Facility
Our treatment facilities are located all across the country, and while you may end up going to a facility that is close to your home, there is a good chance that you will need to travel to get treatment.
It is understandable why people feel safer going to a treatment center that is close to home, but there are benefits to traveling for treatment:
Each treatment facility has unique programs, so being open to travel can also give you access to the best and most affordable treatment options for your needs.
Being in a new place will give you physical and emotional distance from the place where the addiction has been unfolding, and our patients often find this new perspective to be invigorating and motivating.
It is much more difficult to leave an unfamiliar place, so there is a much lower risk of a patient leaving treatment early. In addition, many of our facilities are set in secluded locations, further limiting the risk of patients trying to cut their treatment short.
Getting to Treatment
The thought of traveling for treatment can be a concern because it could involve making travel arrangements like booking a flight and setting up airport transfers. We understand this, which is why we handle the logistics of planning travel arrangements to take the stress out of the process.
Each Sunspire Health facility has a designated pick-up and drop-off protocol to safely transport patients to and from the facility. Upon arrival, loved ones will be notified, and the intake process will begin.
We will provide more details about how to prepare for treatment when you speak with us, including a list of items you may want to pack if you are checking into a residential treatment program like appropriate clothing and approved personal toiletries.
What to Expect When you Arrive at Sunspire Health
Once you arrive at your chosen Sunspire Health facility, we will show you to your bedroom to store your belongings and will give you a tour of the facility and campus where you will stay for the duration of your treatment.
The first few days of residential treatment will typically involve:
- Orientation and facility tour
- A meeting with your primary therapist
- Review of your personalized daily treatment schedule
- Individual and group therapy sessions
- Educational classes
- Working one-on-one with your primary therapist to develop your recovery plan
Each of the Sunspire Health residential treatment facilities offers a homelike environment with serene, natural surroundings that provide a tranquil setting to focus on healing and recovery. Often, patients feel relief when they arrive as the stress of their past disappears, allowing them to take a deep breath and head into recovery with a sense of calm.
