Welcome to Recovery Road

Sunspire Health Recovery Road is a treatment facility in Palm Beach Gardens for men affected by addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders in South Florida. Treatment at Sunspire Health Recovery Road is evidence-based with a patient-centered approach to ensure that you or the man you're seeking help for receives individualized care and gains the tools and support necessary for lifelong recovery.

Men often become addicted to substances or behaviors for different reasons than women and face specific challenges when it comes to seeking treatment, so all of Recovery Road's staff are experienced in addressing the unique issues that men face in addiction and recovery. Gender-specific care promotes a safe, judgement-free environment for our patients who may have a difficult time opening up and bonding with their peers in a mixed-gender facility.

With 30 beds available and staff available to patients 24-hours a day, our facility offers comfortable, homelike accommodations that give peace of mind to men as they embark on their journey to recovery. Patients reside in apartments and receive treatment at our clinical building with staff regularly checking in at the apartments to assist with anything that may arise during meal times or free time throughout the day.

Recovery Road staff has special expertise in treating process addictions that may co-occur with substance use, such as gambling, sex, internet, and video game addictions. We also work closely with young men ages 18 to 25 who enter our treatment program and facilitate conversations about the struggles and triggers that are specific to this age group.

Our goal at Recovery Road is to help men understand and overcome the issues that triggered their addiction, so they can achieve real, long-term success in recovery.

Levels of Care at Recovery Road

Detox is often the first step to recovery during which the substances of abuse are cleared from a patient's system under the supervision of medical professionals in a comfortable setting. While Sunspire Health Recovery Road does not offer medical detoxification onsite, we work with local clinics that are trusted partners and can provide this service to patients before they begin their treatment program at Recovery Road.

Upon completion of detox, patients will begin their treatment program at the Sunspire Health Recovery Road campus with around-the-clock guidance and supervision from our clinical staff. During intake, the patient will complete a full biopsychosocial with our staff in order to design an individualized treatment plan and will meet with their primary therapist in order to begin healing.

Treatment at Recovery Road not only focuses on evidence-based therapies and clinical interventions but also incorporates mind-body wellness for recovery. Patients at Recovery Road enjoy treatment in a beautiful southern Florida setting with compassionate staff, giving them a supportive and calming setting to clear their minds to begin life post-treatment with a clean slate. With access to a local gym and the incorporation of alternative therapies like art therapy and yoga, there are ample opportunities for men to heal physically, emotionally, and mentally.

The daily schedule for each individual will be busy to keep patients focused on their treatment, and regular meetings with their primary therapist offer the opportunity to receive one-on-one counseling at Recovery Road.

IOP is the last step of care at Recovery Road. Patients are given more independence at the facility as they begin to readjust themselves to everyday life while still receiving support and care based upon their individual needs. Each patient will leave Sunspire Health Recovery Road with a comprehensive aftercare plan and will be able to participate in The Courage Program, which is a Sunspire alumni support network.

Family Program at Recovery Road

At Recovery Road we believe that including families throughout the treatment process is integral to our patients' success in recovery. Patients will meet with their family therapist on a weekly basis and will communicate with loved ones during these sessions as needed to heal the family unit and set the foundation for long-term recovery. For those who travel to Recovery Road for treatment, family sessions can be conducted via phone.

Once a month, families of patients are invited to participate in Recovery Road's Family Weekend during which loved ones will learn more about the science behind the disease of addiction and will be guided to better understand their role in the addiction and in recovery. The patients join their families to get to the root of unresolved issues and practice healthy communication in order to heal the family unit and set a solid foundation for recovery.

In addition to family therapy sessions, patients will be able to communicate with loved ones throughout their stay at Recovery Road. Any contact patients have with loved ones is at the discretion of their primary therapist who will determine if it is in the patient's best interest depending on their progress in treatment.
