If you or someone you know is struggling with a substance use disorder, a co-occurring mental health disorder, and/or a co-occurring process addiction such as problem gambling or sex addiction, call us now to learn how we can help. We are here 24/7 every day to answer your questions and start the admissions process to set you or your loved one on the path to recovery. Don't let concerns about insurance or cost be an obstacle to treatment. Our admissions counselors will work with you to figure out the options that best suit your individual needs.

What program is right for you?

We design an individualized treatment plan for every client who receives addiction treatment at a Sunspire Health center, addressing their individual needs while taking into account their medical history, lifestyle, and any co-occurring disorders they may have. The initial admissions assessment is most effective when we can speak with you directly about your situation and concerns in order to determine what treatment programs and financing options will be best for you or your loved one.

While there is no standard course of treatment, it is common for those who are suffering with substance use to first enter detox to gently ease off of the substance of abuse in order to enter the next phase of treatment with a clear mind and body. We offer detox at Sunspire Health Astoria Pointe, Sunspire Health Desert Palms, Sunspire Health Texas, Sunspire Health Hilton Head and Sunspire Health Heartland. At our centers where we do not offer onsite detox, we partner with local providers who we have ensured offer a safe environment and quality medical care prior to transferring to our residential program.

We recommend that a person receiving treatment for addiction for the first time or a person with a co-occurring mental health disorder consider a residential treatment program to increase the chances of success in long-term recovery. We also recommend a residential program to anyone who has a history of addiction or relapse because the safe, healing environment away from stress and triggers is ideal for recovery.

Every client who receives treatment at a Sunspire Health center will leave with a comprehensive aftercare plan that may include ongoing treatment in a partial hospitalization program or an intensive outpatient program, with sober living accommodations available if suggested or needed. Planning for your life post-treatment begins the first day of your residential treatment program.

Once we speak with you to learn about your treatment requirements, we can begin planning your individualized recovery plan and initiate the intake process by determining which of our centers is best suited to meet your needs.

We accept most health insurance plans and work closely with providers to ensure that you are able to maximize benefits and coverage to minimize your out-of-pocket treatment costs. We can also design a financing option with you for the remaining balance that insurance may not cover.

If you are unsure about your insurance coverage, call us now, and our admissions counselors will walk you through the steps to determine what options are available with your health insurance.

There are many financing options for addiction treatment. One of the best ways to pay the remaining balance of treatment costs after insurance coverage is by working with your insurance provider to find a health care credit card with low to zero-percent APR, or by working with us to design a mutually agreeable payment plan.

You may even be eligible for American Healthcare Lending, which is a loan service for the medical costs of addiction and mental health care. There are also several grants and scholarship programs for addiction treatment that may be available to cover costs.

Traveling for Treatment

Our treatment centers are located all across the country, and while you may end up going to a center that is a couple of hours or more away from your home, there is a good change that you will need to travel to get to treatment.

It is understandable why people feel safer going to a treatment center that is close to home, but there are benefits to traveling for treatment:

  • Each treatment center has unique programs, so being open to travel can also give you access to the best and most affordable treatment options for your needs.
  • Being in a new place will give you physical and emotional distance from the place where the addiction has been unfolding, and our clients often find this new perspective to be invigorating and motivating.
  • You will be far away from the triggers and stressors that may have caused you to turn to substances or addictive behaviors, allowing you to focus on healing
  • There is lower risk of the client leaving treatment early to return home since it will be more difficult to get back.

The thought of traveling for treatment can be concerning because it often involves a plane ride and having to get to a center in a different state that is far from home—we understand this, which is why we handle the logistics of planning travel arrangements to take the stress out of the process.

Upon arrival, loved ones will be notified, and the intake process will begin. For those concerned about the family program from a distance, family therapy sessions can still be conducted via conference call or web conferencing if travel to the center is not a possibility.

We will provide more details about how to prepare for treatment when you speak with us, including a list of items you may want to pack if you are checking into a residential treatment program like appropriate clothing and approved personal toiletries.

We typically recommend people pack the following belongings for residential treatment:

  • Shoes
  • Shirts
  • Pants
  • Shorts (modest)
  • Undergarments
  • Socks
  • Pajamas
  • Jacket/Coat
  • Hats
  • Bathrobe
  • Belts
  • Slippers
  • Deodorant/antiperspirant
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Shampoo, conditioner, and other hair products
  • Comb and hairbrush
  • Hair dryer/curling or flat irons
  • Shaving cream

Intake and the First Days of Residential Treatment

Once you arrive at the Sunspire Health center, we will show you to your bedroom to store your belongings and will give you a tour of the house where you will live for the duration of your program with others receiving treatment. Then, we will sit down to speak with you in order to begin the intake process by determining your treatment needs. The first few days of treatment will typically involve:

  • A meeting with your primary therapist to become acquainted
  • Orientation and review of your personalized daily schedule
  • Individual and group therapy sessions
  • Educational classes
  • Working one-on-one with your primary therapist to design your treatment program

Each of the Sunspire Health residential treatment centers offers a homelike environment with serene, natural surroundings that provide a tranquil setting to focus on healing and recovery. Often, patients feel relief when they arrive at the center as the stress of their past disappears, allowing them to take a deep breath and relax while starting treatment.

It is important to us that every client feel comfortable and cared for, especially in the first few days of adjustment to the new setting. If you have questions about our locations or the way the intake process works, call us now for information!
